New York Climate Week is well underway and has kicked off with several big announcements. This year, the theme of “It’s Time” is reinvigorating the sense of urgency that governments, non-profits, private sector companies, and individuals are all adopting to make headway against climate change.

CIBO Press Release: CIBO Technologies Expands Government Incentive Programs Solution for Agriculture

Here at CIBO Technologies, we announced a significant expansion of our support for USDA EQIP programs across 19 states last week. Working with states and counties is vital as they represent where the primary point of interaction happens with the farmers and the land. Helen Clarkson, CEO of the Climate Group supported this same sentiment during the first day of NY Climate Week when she said: “So much of this transition work must happen locally, whether state, regional, or cities, because the subnational governments are ready to deliver, they are ambitious.” Read the press release

In the News: UN Global Compact Accelerates Corporate Actions in Transforming Global Food Systems

The UN issues a statement during their General Assembly this week supporting increasing involvement by the private sector in regenerative and sustainable practices like regenerative agriculture programs. They said, “Corporate action on food systems is critical because businesses play a key role in shaping global food production, distribution, and consumption. By adopting sustainable practices, corporations can significantly reduce environmental impacts such as greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation, and water use. Moreover, their engagement helps improve food security, promotes fair labor practices, and supports resilient supply chains, which are essential for addressing the challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, and global inequities in food access.” Read the press release
