CIBO Technologies, a company specializing in climate software for agriculture, and Anew Climate, LLC, a provider of climate solutions, have announced an agreement to enhance the Locus Agriculture (Locus AG) CarbonNOW® program. This collaboration integrates the CIBO Impact platform to assist growers in monitoring soil carbon results.

Utilizing Technology in Carbon Farming

Through this agreement, farmers participating in the CarbonNOW program will have access to tools for tracking soil carbon outcomes. The CIBO Impact platform is designed to automate program enrollment, soil sampling planning, and reporting processes. It features the Control Plot Manager, which helps identify valid control plots and sampling plans for accurate carbon credit quantification. CarbonNOW is noted as the first U.S. carbon farming program to use biologicals as an approved practice change.

Jackie Boden, CarbonNOW Program Manager at Locus AG, remarked on the partnership: “CIBO Impact offers us the technology to manage data effectively and provides benefits such as ease of managing soil sampling and automated control plot designs. Ensuring a positive grower experience is crucial to the program’s success, and partnering with Anew and CIBO supports this goal.”

Focus on Data Integrity and Climate Benefits

Scott O’Neill, Senior Vice President of Implementation at Anew, commented on the collaboration’s focus on data management: “High-quality carbon credits rely on data integrity. CIBO’s platform helps streamline data management processes, allowing us to monitor the impact of the Locus Ag program and quantify the climate benefits from soil carbon to credit.”

Expanding the Program’s Reach

Daniel Ryan, President and CEO of CIBO Technologies, spoke about the potential impact of the partnership: “Our agreement with Anew supports hundreds of thousands of acres enrolled in the CarbonNOW program to generate carbon offsets and strengthen land resilience. We are on pace to exceed over a million acres of farmlands across the U.S. in the program.”
